Or have on my to do list.
Actually, this list is also the result of my teaching experience, as many of them I’ve had to teach countless times. The students like them, I like them, so I guess you’ll like them too!
Some of these are easy to learn…the power of simplicity. Check them out. I’m listing players where I feel like it because you should know their names and check out more of their stuff. Some of them aren’t so easy, so I guess the title of this post is deceptive. Oh, well!
Queen/John Deacon: Another One Bites the Dust
Brick House
Come Together/Beatles
Longview/Green Day
Pink Floyd/Money (for the DUH file)
Oh, Pretty Woman
Cream: Sunshine of Your Love, Badge
RUSH! Jeez, where to start: Tom Sawyer, YYZ, Limelight, Driven.
John Taylor/Duran Duran: Save a Prayer, Rio…
Bernard Edwards: I Want Your Love, My Forbidden Lover…
Higher Ground/Chili Pepper version (all due respect to Stevie Wonder) for that cool intro.
Black Sabbath: N.I.B.
Aerosmith/Sweet Emotion.
The Police: I like Can’t Stand Losing, cool use of palm muting on bass.
Gimme Three Steps/Lynyrd Skynyrd
Low Rider!
Livin’ on a Prayer/Bon Jovi. Easy, cool intro.
Primus! Can’t think of an easy riff offhand, but they’re all cool.
Jaco Pastorius, of course! But where to start learning first?
Victor Wooten. I’d be a happy camper if I could play his version of Amazing Grace.
I know John Entwistle should be on this list. My Generation?
List in development. Tell me what I should learn…
Guitar & Bass T-shirts now available!
Keith,
Great list. I must admit that while I am a follower of yours, my practice schedule is lacking. I am hoping that the New Year brings me more practice time…
Thanks, mon! My practice schedule is pretty lacking as well. I mean, I’m thankful that I find time most days of the week, but I like those days where I get a little time to practice EVERYTHING!
